SISTAC, which operates in Brazil’s market for inspection, maintenance and repair of subsea structures for the oil and gas industry, said it has signed a contract amendment with Petrobras extending by one year its work on platforms located in the Santos, Campos and Espirito Santo basins.

The contract with the state-run oil company, which began in April 2023 after a competitive bidding process, will now run through June 2027. The services will be carried out using the SISTAC Vitória, one of the company’s own vessels.

The specialized technical services include subsea interventions using shallow diving and remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs. The operation calls for the use of ROVs supported by a shallow dive support vessel, or SDSV, at depths of up to 250 meters, as well as workclass ROVs.

“The extension of the contract with Petrobras, a player in the oil and gas sector that demands operational excellence, represents recognition of SISTAC’s expertise. We always aim to exceed clients’ expectations, and our offshore vessels supporting subsea operations stand out for their cutting-edge technology, robustness and reliability,” SISTAC Chief Executive Carlos Madaleno said.

The executive also said the company’s teams, including engineers, technicians and professional divers, are highly specialized. “All of our diving systems are certified, ensuring quality and compliance with the most rigorous international standards of safety and performance.”

With three decades of operations, SISTAC has bases in Macaé and Niteroi, in Rio de Janeiro state, and operates along the entire Brazilian coast. In August last year, the company was recognized for the second consecutive year with Petrobras’ PEODIVE Award, a program for operational excellence in shallow diving. The award certifies its commitment to excellence, safety and technical quality in diving operations aligned with the highest international standards.
