Soy and pulp top ranking of Uruguay exports

According to a report by the Instituto Século XXI, which promotes economic growth, both products saw a 15 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, a year impacted by drought.
Uruguayan exports have been on the rise for six consecutive months, according to the monthly Uruguay XXI report.
It states that merchandise sales totaled $1.182 billion in September, marking a 14 percent increase compared to the same month the previous year.
On the other hand, industrial loans surpassed one billion dollars in August, making it the best month of the year.
The chart below reveals some of the top goods traded in containers shipped through maritime long-haul ports in the first eight months of 2024. The data comes from DataLiner.

Beef exports totaled $162 million in September, with a decline in the Chinese market but increased demand from the United States.
In the ninth month of the year, the automotive, meat by-products, and wood sectors recorded declines, according to the report.
