In the first half of 2025, TESC (Terminal Portuário Santa Catarina) handled 3.3 million tonnes of cargo, marking a 20% increase compared to 2024. This growth was recorded across all cargo segments — soy and corn grains, steel products, imported dry bulk, renewable forest products, and general cargo — with plant-based products standing out with a 30% increase.

TESC began operating its dedicated grain silos and berth for exports in 2023, following an investment of over R$250 million to implement the project tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural sector. Since then, the terminal has recorded approximately 5 million tonnes of grain shipped over its two years of operations. There is still room to expand, with the facility’s installed capacity reaching up to 4 million tonnes of grains per year once the project reaches full maturity, according to the terminal’s COO, Randal Couceiro.

Despite operating in a compact 68,000 m² area within the São Francisco do Sul Port Complex, TESC has demonstrated technical capability and strategic planning to sustain a high-performance operational model. The terminal handles cargo from three regions of the country and has an area of influence spanning more than 1,000 kilometers.
