Vitória Port signs contract to expand area for vehicle imports

Comexport and Vports, the concessionaire managing the port complexes of Espírito Santo, have signed a new agreement expanding the area operated by the foreign trade company within the Vitória and Vila Velha port complex. The 16,000-square-meter expansion will increase storage capacity for vehicles and special cargo, such as machinery and equipment.

In 2023, Comexport became the first company to operate a Vehicle Terminal (TEV) inside the Port of Vitória. With the new expansion agreement signed on Monday (10), Espírito Santo is expected to receive more than 200,000 vehicles per year, consolidating the state as one of Brazil’s main entry points for imported automobiles.

For the company, the agreement represents another step toward expanding its service offerings to the automotive industry and other sectors requiring specialized logistics. The steady growth of operations within the complex prompted the new area expansion contract.

“Today we have, within the port, a logistics complex ranked among the most advanced in the world. This new partnership reaffirms our confidence in the state and in the Brazilian automotive market,” said Comexport president Alan Goldlust.

This is the 15th contract signed by Vports since taking over management of Espírito Santo’s ports three years ago. According to the company, total investments have reached R$600 million since the start of the concession, through its own funds and private partnerships.

“The new contract strengthens the port as a logistics hub for the automotive sector and for operations that demand flexibility and productivity,” said Vports CEO Gustavo Serrão.

Growth

From January to September 2025, 3.8 million tonnes arrived in Brazil through the port complex — already surpassing the record import volume of 2024. Vports also reports a 49% increase in machinery and equipment imports this year, a trend supported by expanded space and handling capacity.
