Zelensky oversees resumption of grain exports in Ukranian port

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appeared on Friday (29) at the port of Chornomorsk, in southern Ukraine, to oversee the resumption of grain exports in accordance with the agreements signed on July 22, the presidency announced.

“The loading of the first ship since the start of the war has begun. It’s a Turkish ship,” Zelensky remarked, according to a presidential statement that included a video of the president standing in front of the “Polarnet.”

According to the presidency, the resumption of grain exports could start “in the next few days” to supply international markets with tonnes of grain blocked in Ukrainian ports since the beginning of the war.

“We are well prepared. We send all signals to our partners, the UN and Turkey, and our military ensures security,” Zelensky asserted.

According to the president, Ukraine is only waiting for a “signal” from Turkey and the UN to “start.”

Exports are expected to resume with ships that were loaded when the invasion began in February but never left the port due to the war.
