Brazilian vehicle production rose 17.2% in June compared with the same month in 2025, reaching 246,000 units, including cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, according to Anfavea, the national automakers association.
Compared with May, however, output fell 3%.
In the first half of the year, production totaled 1.37 million vehicles, up 8.8% from the same period last year. Sales reached 1.42 million units, an increase of 18.5%.
In June alone, 272,500 vehicles were sold, the best result for the month in 13 years. Year on year, however, sales were virtually stable, edging down 0.8%.
Exports remained the main weak spot for the sector. In June, shipments fell 26.7% from the same month in 2025 and 1.9% from May, totaling 36,700 vehicles.
Year to date, exports totaled 216,600 units, down 21.2% from the first half of 2025.
The report also showed that automakers created 824 jobs in June, ending the month with 114,500 employees.
