Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Sílvio Costa Filho, has established a Permanent Forum to discuss Public Policies for Port Workers. According to a decree published in the country’s Official Gazette on Monday (11/06), the objective is to receive, discuss, offer suggestions, and propose technical and normative solutions related to the organization, training, improvement, capacity building, services, and responsibilities of the category.
The forum will have an advisory and propositional nature within the Ministry of Ports and Airports and will include representatives from the ministry, as well as entities and institutions. The forum’s meeting calendar will commence in February of each year, with its first plenary meeting, and will conclude in November with the annual final meeting.
The National Secretariat of Ports and Aquaviary Transport may issue the necessary regulations for the work and activities to be carried out within the scope of the Forum.
