Brazilian pork exports totaled 120,900 tonnes in February, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), marking the highest volume ever recorded for the month in the historical series that began in 1997. The result was up 5.1% from January and 6.9% higher than in February 2025.

According to Cepea, February’s performance marked the third consecutive month of record shipments for the export sector. In December 2025 and January 2026, exports had also reached the highest volumes ever recorded for those respective months.

Over the three-month period, Brazilian pork exports exceeded 372,000 tonnes, a volume 14.2% higher than that recorded between December 2024 and February 2025. Cepea said the last time Brazil posted three straight months of record exports was from August to October 2025.

The Philippines remained the leading destination for Brazilian pork for the 13th consecutive month, with 40,900 tonnes shipped in February. Japan followed with 12,100 tonnes, and China with 11,100 tonnes.

For March, expectations in the sector are that the strong pace of shipments will continue. Even so, market participants are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East conflict, especially those involving Iran, amid the risk that tensions could spread to other countries in the region.

Although the Middle East is not among the main destinations for Brazilian pork, largely for religious reasons, the sector is concerned about the indirect effects of the crisis on international logistics. Among the main concerns are possible restrictions on strategic shipping routes and rising freight, oil, and marine insurance costs, factors that could weigh on export operations.
