Log-In acquires new container vessel

On February 23, Log-In Logística Intermodal announced the acquisition of a new US$ 20-million container ship from the shipping company Klaveness Container AS. The vessel has a nominal capacity of 2,550 TEU and will be called “Log-In Discovery”.

Built at the Chinese shipyard, Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, the ship has a total length of 208.90 m and has modern technology and energy efficiency. Its project includes state-of-the-art equipment for efficient energy consumption, generating fewer pollutant emissions, and greater bunker savings. In addition, it has a ballast water treatment system installed and 536 outlets for transporting refrigerated containers (reefers).

According to Log-In’s strategy, the vessel will be used to expand services and eventual operational needs. Currently, the company has six other container ships for a total capacity of 15,500 TEU. The vessels Log-In Resilience, Log-In Endurance, Log-In Polaris, Log-In Jacarandá, Log-In Pantanal, and Log-In Jatobá operate on four regular navigation services: South Atlantic, Amazonas, Rio Shuttle, and Feeder Shuttle Service.
