Port of Imbituba added to regular Brazil-Russia shipping service

The Port of Imbituba, in Santa Catarina, has been added to a new regular shipping route between Brazil and Russia, with sailings every two weeks. The service is operated by Russia’s FESCO Transportation Group and expands logistics options for Brazilian foreign trade, particularly for containerized cargo.
The new route connects Brazilian ports with Russian terminals through strategic calls, allowing the movement of industrial goods, food products, chemical inputs and other cargo traded between the two countries.
The new maritime connection also comes alongside investments in infrastructure and operating capacity at the port complex. Imbituba has been receiving funds for modernization works, including improvements to the breakwater and projects designed to increase logistics efficiency and make the terminal more competitive.
For the port authority, the new service creates an opportunity to diversify markets, expand options for exporters and importers and strengthen Imbituba’s role in global trade chains.
