Piauí Governor Rafael Fonteles signed a commercial agreement on Monday (29) in São Paulo between Porto Piauí and Cnaga, a company specialized in logistics and bonded terminals. The partnership ensures that the company will operate the general cargo and container terminal of the Piauí port, marking another strategic step toward transforming the state’s coastline into a nationally relevant logistics hub. The projected private investment for the operation is R$100 million.

At the signing ceremony, held at the company’s headquarters and led by businessman José Américo, the governor highlighted the importance of the partnership for the state’s economy and emphasized Cnaga’s credibility.

“We have just celebrated this strategic partnership here in São Paulo. There is nothing better than having an experienced company betting on the future of this logistics hub in Piauí, which will be a benchmark in efficiency for clients receiving imported cargo or exporting goods,” said Rafael Fonteles.

Under the agreement, Cnaga will operate the general cargo terminal and manage the arrival of various types of goods, containers, and oversized or heavy cargo. The company will also build and manage storage warehouses to support the operations of the multipurpose quay, a structure that has already been completed within the port complex.

Currently, work at Porto Piauí is progressing on the urbanization of the multipurpose quay’s back area, where Cnaga will operate. The port already has an established administrative structure, a container yard, and a dredged channel with a depth of seven meters, in addition to expansion projects for bulk terminals and new operational capabilities.
