Vehicle export grows at the Port of Rio Grande in 2021

Vehicle exports through the Port of Rio Grande registered growth in 2021. Rolling loads were shipped all year long.

Shipments of 5,909 cars, 10 threshing platforms (equipment that gets attached to the harvester), 46 buses, 163 trailers, and 2 combat vehicles were among the exports that featured upward variations over the year.

Currently, the automotive yard at the Port of Rio Grande is receiving another batch of vehicles, which will begin to be shipped in the next few days.

The cars were destined for Chile (886), Colombia (3,322), Cuba (6), Ecuador (1,050), the United States (3), Morocco (5), and Peru (633). The harvesters/threshers were exported to Colombia (4), Cuba (1), and the United States (5). The buses, in turn, were shipped to the United States (45) and Mexico (1). Finally, the tow trucks were mainly destined for Peru (60) and Morocco (40).
